Shell Rock River

One of the main recreational attractions to the City of Greene is the Shell Rock River.  The river includes an almost 7 mile stretch of unimpeded water, one of the longest stretches in the state.  The river provides wonderful opportunities for fishing, boating, canoeing, skiing and pontooning along with other water activities.  The river even offers opportunities in the winter  for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling!


Perrin Park

The approximately 5 acre park in downtown Greene lies along the Shell Rock River.  The park offers a brand new shelter built in 2012 and donated to the City by the Jaycee’s.  A second shelter house along with a small gazebo are also available to use.  The park also offers playground equipment, a tennis court, a basketball court, 2 sand volleyball courts, modern bathroom facilities, boat dock/ramp as well as a memorial walking path around the park.


Swimming Pool

Mid May through mid-August

In 2002 the city opened its new Aquatic Center.  The pool offers a zero depth entry along with a water slide, diving board and a water mushroom.  Swimming lessons and water aerobics are offered.  Times are announced mid-May. Call pool for times and fees.


Golf Course

9 hole, par 36, semi-private golf course with driving range, rental carts, clubhouse with full bar and amenities and the lowest green fees around. Open layout with a beautiful pond and sand bunker hazards prove this home town course to be appropriate for all level golfers.


Camping

Wunsch Memorial Park is located just below the dam along the Shell Rock River in Greene.  The campground is approximately 1.2 acres.  The park offers excellent fishing for walleye, small mouth bass and catfish above and below the dam. The park offers electricity, running water, access to river and boat ramp.  Also includes 10 electrical camp sites and a new shelter house.  Within easy walking distance to stores, city pool and city park.  The park is managed by the Butler County Conservation Board.  For more information call 319-239-3965.

Camp Comfort Recreation Area is a 27 acre park also located along the Shell Rock River just 5 miles south of Greene.  There is boat & canoe access above and below the rock dam, a large shelter house & electricity for 25 trailers as well as tents.  For more information call 319-239-3965.


Bowling

Freeze Frame Bowl is located just north of Greene on Hwy 14.  The alley offers six newly remodeled lanes as well as a full service restaurant/bar.
