DENSE GROWTH of all weeds, vines, brush or other vegetation in the City so as to constitute a health, safety, or fire hazard. Unless a variance is allowed by resolution of the Council, grass, weeds, brush, or other uncultivated plants, execpt trees, shall be cut, mowed, and maintained so as to not to exceed the following height specifications:
Developed Residental Areas - not to exceed six inches
Undeveloped Residential Areas - not to exceed eight inches
Business and Industrial Areas not to exceed six inches
Agricultural Areas - not to exceed 12 inches
Annual publication of this chapter, will serve as a notice to property owners. If the City finds a property in violation of this chapter, one letter and a copy of this chapter will be sent by regular mail to the property owner. This letter will require immediate and continued compliance. Any property owner who violates the provisions of this chapter will be given one notice per summer and the City will be authorized to respond to additional violations without additional written notice being given. Any billings for mowing done by the City or their agents are to be sent by regular mail and are payable within 30 days of the billing date. If the amount shown by the statement has not been paid within one month, the Clerk shall certify the cost to the County Treasurer and such costs shall then be collected with, and in the same manner as, general property taxes.
